Location & Transportation

Where is the lodge located? The lodge is located in the municipality of Novo Airão (180 km from Manaus), on the banks of the Rio Negro and directly across from the Anavilhanas National Park, the second-largest river archipelago in the world.

How does the transfer from Manaus work?

The regular transfer is included in the rate and is carried out in air-conditioned vans on a paved road.

  • Trip Duration: Approximately 3 hours each way.
  • Schedules (Departing Manaus): There are two daily departures, one at 8:30 AM and another between 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM (to meet early afternoon flight arrivals).
  • Schedules (Departing Lodge): Two daily departures, one at 8:00 AM and another at 1:30 PM.

Is there another way to get there?

Yes, you can hire a private land transfer or a scenic seaplane flight. The flight takes about 35-40 minutes and is an unforgettable experience over the archipelago, but it is an outsourced service and must be paid for separately.

Does the transfer pass the Meeting of Waters?

No. The Meeting of Waters is located in the opposite direction (on the Solimões River), while the lodge is on the Rio Negro.

Does the lodge accept children?

Yes, children are welcome. The Amazon is an incredible attraction for them. The lodge organizes special groups for tours so children can learn at their own pace and also offers a varied kids’ menu at mealtimes.

Are the tours private?

No. The included excursions are conducted in small groups with bilingual guides. If you would like a private tour, you can check availability and rates with the reception desk.

Is it possible to visit indigenous tribes?

No. The lodge does not offer this tour, as the indigenous villages are at least 4 hours away in restricted areas. The sister hotel in Manaus (Villa Amazônia) can assist in booking tours to indigenous cultural centers located closer to the capital.
